What is included

Cross-platform agents

Windows scheduled task, Linux systemd, and macOS LaunchDaemon. Version 4.6 reports health, hardware, software, licenses, and disk SMART status.

Wazuh SIEM

Standard and Pro co-install the Wazuh agent. Endpoints appear on wazuh.aivorys.com and, once API credentials are set, on the Aivorys Integrations page.

Backups

Under 10 devices: remote backup. At 10 or more: a local NAS or Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS). An admin connects storage once under Integrations; every user and backup job uses it.

Inventory

Hardware, installed software, and license keys. Windows registry is exported before and after patch jobs so you can roll back configuration drift.

Set and forget alerts

Email and tickets on agent disconnects, command errors, and hard-drive / RAID failure. No daily babysitting.

Website plugin

Optional status snippet for a customer site. Extra value on Pro; copy the snippet from Website plugin in the console.

Accounts and seats

  • Admin sees every user and every device, with no seat cap.
  • Normal operator starts on Free: 1 device they can manage. Extra devices stay visible but locked until Standard or Pro.
  • Create a workspace at /signup. No card for the first device.

Windows, macOS, and Linux agents

In the console go to Agent Deploy. Copy the one-line install for that device. Paid plans also install the Wazuh agent in the same run.

  • Windows — PowerShell as Administrator. The install command flushes DNS first; if the manager name still cannot be resolved it pins the IP in the hosts file. Scheduled task keeps the agent alive.
  • Linux — systemd service. SMART via smartctl, RAID via mdstat, hardware/software inventory.
  • macOS — LaunchDaemon. The install command flushes the DNS cache first (same as Windows) and can pin /etc/hosts if needed. FileVault, firewall, and disk SMART on disk0.

Current agent version is 4.6.0. Devices report about once a minute. Offline, errors, and failing disks raise alerts automatically.

How to connect a Synology NAS

Required for Pro (10+ devices) unless the company connects Bring Your Own Storage instead. An admin saves the company NAS once — every user inherits it. Operators never enter the password.

  1. In DSM create a shared folder (for example Aivorys) and a user with Read/Write on that share. Do not use the DSM admin account.
  2. Enable rsync (Control Panel → File Services) and SSH (Terminal & SNMP).
  3. In Aivorys an admin opens Integrations and saves the company NAS:
    • Server URL — https://192.168.x.x:5001 or your DDNS hostname. Must start with https://.
    • Username / password — the dedicated backup user.
    • Share path — /volume1/Aivorys (or the folder you created).
  4. Click Save company NAS. That login is used for all users, Pro checkout, and backup jobs.
  5. On Backups, leave NAS host blank to auto-fill from the company NAS, or type user@NAS-IP.

Use the LAN IP or DDNS. QuickConnect URLs are unreliable for backup copy. Pro checkout is blocked until a company NAS or BYOS is saved.

Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS)

Aivorys does not host a shared cloud pool. Each company connects its own bucket. That is BYOS — Bring Your Own Storage. Works with Wasabi, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO, and other S3-compatible stores.

  1. In the storage console create a private bucket for this company only. Do not reuse one bucket across companies.
  2. Create an access key that can read and write that bucket. Do not paste keys in chat.
  3. In Aivorys an admin opens Integrations → Bring Your Own Storage (Super User can do the same per company).
  4. Paste the endpoint, region, bucket, access key, and secret — or a full URL such as https://s3.example.com/bucket or s3://bucket.
  5. Click Test BYOS, then Save BYOS. Backups go to that bucket under a folder per device. Pro checkout accepts BYOS in place of a NAS.

Keys are encrypted at rest. Agents never receive long-lived storage keys. Disconnect BYOS any time; backups then use NAS if one is configured.

Backups

  • Free — no backup jobs.
  • Standard (2–9) — remote backup included.
  • Pro (10+) — local NAS or Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS). Storage depends on how many servers and desktops you protect.

Each company has private storage: a BYOS bucket when connected, or RMMBACKUP / company / computer-name on NAS. Companies never mix.

What is in a backup. Open Backups and click Show folders on this PC. Folders are grouped as system files, Desktop / Downloads / pictures / music, websites, databases, apps, and video. System files are ticked automatically. Tick Desktop, Downloads, Pictures, or Music if you want those — the whole user profile is still never copied in folder mode. Or click Back up full system to copy users, apps, and configs in one go (still never whole disks, Docker, or Windows itself). Size follows the plan: Standard is 5 GB per archive. A full system copy is larger than that — we stop and ask you to buy more storage (Pro with NAS or BYOS). Pro with NAS or BYOS is unlimited, including large video libraries. Docker volumes and whole disks are never included. Click Save folders, then Back up now.

How a normal user backs up. Open Backups. You see every device in your company and its dated archives — no NAS host or password fields. Tick computers and click Back up now (operators and company admins). Viewers can still Download an archive. Restore extracts onto a still-online device into a restore folder so live files are not overwritten. Policies are optional under “Policies”.

How to recover. Download saves the zip/tar to the PC you are using (use this if the device is dead). Restore extracts onto a still-online device into a restore folder — /var/backups/aivorys-restore on Linux, %ProgramData%\AivorysRMM\restore on Windows — so live files are not overwritten. Copy back only what you need.

Patch management

Console: Patches. Workflow matches common RMM patch tools: missing updates across the fleet, deploy, rings, then history.

  • Missing updates — one row per OS or app update, with how many devices need it. Deploy queues that update on every affected computer.
  • Devices — per-computer list. Open a device to patch selected packages or patch all.
  • History — recent patch jobs, including “pending (applies when online)” and reboot-required.
  • Rings — Pilot / Broad staged rollout. Assign devices, then Deploy ring.
  • Jobs wait up to 7 days so a laptop that was offline still patches when it reconnects.
  • Windows Update installs one KB at a time. After a patch the console shows “Rescanning” until the agent reports a fresh inventory.

Wazuh

Console: https://wazuh.aivorys.com/app/login. Manager: wazuh.aivorys.com.

  • Free does not install Wazuh.
  • Standard and Pro install the Wazuh agent together with the Aivorys agent.
  • Those endpoints then show in the Wazuh console. They also list under Integrations in Aivorys once the server has Wazuh API username and password.
  • Admin credentials control the full Wazuh estate. Open the console from Integrations if the iframe is blocked (Wazuh currently sets X-Frame-Options: sameorigin).

Antivirus

Aivorys does not replace the antivirus you already pay for. On Standard and Pro, save the vendor, paid SKU/version, portal URL, and login under Integrations. Use Open portal from that page. The agent also reports which AV/EDR process it sees on the device (Defender, CrowdStrike, Bitdefender, ClamAV, Wazuh, and others).

Inventory and registry

Inventory lists hardware (CPU, disks, serials, SMART health), installed software, and license keys. On Windows, patch jobs export the registry to %ProgramData%\AivorysRMM\registry before and after updates so you have a restore point if a change breaks the machine.

Alerts and reports

The platform is set-and-forget. You get notified when an agent disconnects, a command fails, or a disk reports SMART failure / degraded RAID. Review them under Events, Notifications, Ticketing, and Reporting.

Website plugin

Optional status widget for a customer website. Copy the snippet from Website plugin in the console and paste it on the site. Useful extra value on Pro estates.

Payments and PCI DSS
